Biography - Minister Sherry Lupton resides in Lancaster, PA with her husband Kevin Lupton.  They were married June 12, 1983.  They have two children, a son Marquis who graduated from Shippensburg University and pursuing his Master degree in Telecommunications at Morgan University in Baltimore, Maryland and a daughter Brittany who attends Indiana University of PA (IUP) for Fashion Merchandising.  Minister Sherry Lupton graduated from Millersville University, with a BA in Social Work. She has completed several courses toward a Master in School Counseling. Minister Lupton has worked for the Office of Juvenile Probation & Parole since April 25, 1990.  She is a Supervisor and coordinates and executes a program to reduce children of color in the Juvenile Justice system. Minister Lupton received her Ministry license from Bright Side Baptist Church April 5, 2009. She has completed the advanced continuing education certificate at Lancaster Bible College Institute of Biblical Enrichment, Lancaster, PA. Minister Lupton and her husband Kevin are active members at Bright Side. Minister Lupton is involved in prison Ministry and Ministers to men and women at Lancaster County Prison.  She also works closely with Women Ministry programs assisting, coordinating and executing Women’s breakfast, Conferences and Women’s Discipleship Experience program. Kevin is actively involved with the Men’s Ministry coordinating and implementing breakfast and Men’s conferences.

Minister Lupton along with her husband and many other community members including Dr. Rita Smith Wade-El founded, developed, implemented and executed a program for at risk adolescent “Rites of Passage Program”. This program ran successfully for ten years at Bright Side Baptist Church. Other credits include Freedom Explosion Women’s Conference, Women’s Prayer breakfast, Health fairs and College fairs.

Minister Lupton received several community awards for her outstanding service to the Lancaster community. Two New Era Red Rose awards, Commonwealth of PA House of Representatives citation, Letter of Commendation from Mt. Horeb Lodge # 14 Honoree, Sheroes Award from Delta Sigma Theta, Women of Distinction Girl Scouts, Mother of the Year from Crispus Attucks Center and Community service award from Ebenezer Baptist Church.

March 2008 Minister Lupton was interviewed and quoted in Essence Magazine on ”Stopping the Violence”. Law enforcement officials, politicians, criminal justice experts and social commentators around the country were interviewed to get their take on how to turn the tide of violence.

Minister Lupton founded Women of Faith Ministries in 2007. The purpose of Women of Faith is to minister to the needs of Women by encouraging, empowering, equipping and enhancing Christian women and organizations whose calling is to evangelize, build-up, and mobilize Women for the sake of the Gospel.  Additionally, teaching Christian Women to tear down strongholds by learning to pray with the Power of God’s Word. Two Empowerment Word of Power Women’s conferences have been held in 2007 & 2008. The proceeds benefited Women and Children programs in Lancaster. Other credits for Women of Faith Ministries include Ministering to the needs of youth at the Youth Intervention Center, Lancaster, PA.

Minister Sherry Lupton enjoys speaking to young people, especially young Women.  She has Ministered to college Women at Millersville University and Franklin & Marshall College.
