The safety of our congregation and our educators remains a top priority. We are now offering on-site classes at the church however, the option of online classes gives everyone the opportunity to attend, creates a more comfortable and safe environment for our participants, is an efficient medium of interaction between all participants, and is more cost-effective for the church as opposed to traditional on-site classes,
You can choose to attend classes at Bright Side Baptist Church or you may stream our videos at your own convenience.

Christian Education is the teaching ministry of the Church. The main task of Christian Education is to teach the truth about God. Knowledge, perspective, conviction, skills and character are all components of Christian education, spiritual growth and development. We give and receive spiritual, intellectual, and emotional support for the development of a faith-driven relationship with God and attainment of eternal life.
Our purpose is to bring God’s people to Him and perpetuate His church. God’s Word stands firmly on its own. Christian Education helps Christians understand and express Christianity and aids them in making connections to God. The ultimate goal is to develop Christ-like character and to have the church family become “doers of the Word, not hearers only”. (James 1:22)
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you". Psalm 32:8
Christian Education Classes are held four times per year. Saturday sessions last from 8:30am to 4:00pm. Classes are available to all, but are required by new members of Bright Side Baptist Church.
Paul tells us in his second epistle to Timothy:
"And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work". (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
Children are precious to God and are capable of learning the Scriptures. Children need to know about salvation through Jesus Christ and what a privilege we have to share the Good News with boys and girls and to lead them to Christ. Studies have shown that children under 18 years old are much more receptive to the Gospel. The older a child becomes, the more worldly their perspective becomes, thus making it more difficult for them to see God’s gracious provision of salvation through Christ.
A child needs to learn the Scriptures to encourage spiritual growth, "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby" (1 Peter 2:2).
Children learn by hearing precept upon precept, line upon line. Parents can reinforce what the children are learning in Sunday School at home.
Sunday school is convenient. With the work, family and activity schedules of many church members, it is easier to come to church one hour earlier than to arrange another night out during the week.
Sunday school organizes the church into caring groups. The teacher becomes a shepherd for the class, an extension of the pastor’s ministry.
Sunday school leads the church in prayer and relationships. From the preschool class through all the adult classes, prayer is directed toward the specific needs of the class members.
Sunday school focuses on outreach to peers and friends. In a small group setting, warmth and love flow and topics are non-threatening, class members are encouraged to invite fellow-employees or friends from school.
Sunday school is one of the most consistent programs in the church. Sunday after Sunday its dedicated staff leads the church in this most important ministry.
Teachers needed.
Open to anyone 21 years or older who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior. Current background clearances will be required and the church can help obtain those. We will identify and recruit qualified teachers,
teacher assistants, and helpers to serve on Y.E.S.
More information will be available at a later date or email preacherbe@yahoo.com
YES Sunday School meetings every 2nd and 4th Sundays at 8:30AM.
What Is the Purpose of Vacation Bible School?
Many people may wonder what the purpose of Vacation Bible School is and if it's still relevant. The answer is actually very simple: the purpose of VBS is to minister to children in the church, create outreach to the surrounding communities, and to create evangelism opportunities. This purpose is supported by a creative theme of Bible study, activities, worship, and even time for some tasty snacks.
If you are not sure VBS is important, here are a few things to consider:
1. VBS is a dependable ongoing ministry and it can be a short-term event with long-term results. What other program can do that in a one-week time frame?
2. VBS creates lasting memories that help lock Bible truths in hearts and minds for a lifetime. Multiple generations come together. For one week, a multi-generational army unites around the good news of Jesus.
3. VBS is an opportunity to share the gospel. People from the neighborhood can show up. It is an opportunity to be good neighbors.
4. VBS is what you make it. The gospel is the central focus. The reason we do VBS is to share the gospel but, the games and activities and skits are a lot of fun too. And adults get to be kids.
Vacation Bible School has come a long way. It benefits not only the children who participate but also the church and the adults and youth who volunteer to teach and lead it. VBS offers fun and creative methods of teaching Christ-like values and relationship-building skills. It offers an opportunity to introduce children and youth to a deeper relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
